Gold Dust Icon
Stevie Nicks, the archetypal rule-making older woman who....well, rocks! Not familiar with Stevie's dating habits, but as I approach my 50th year, the scent of gold dust appeals ...heavy and patchouli- laced lashed looks never go out of style. What Stevie does well is to eloquently and gracefully communicate. She encapsulates an old-fashioned charm, sensuality and spirit that is so rare in this age of Tinder, Snapchat and Instagram babes.
The formulaic, bullyish and most importantly as a psychologist, non-empirically sound 'the Rules' and 'the Rules revisited' ad infinitum have revealed themselves ineffective with divorce rates high. Having dated the tattered survivor of a Rules Coach guru, who claims to have been threatened with a knife by his expensively Fein and Schneider coached Rolex & black spandex wearing practitioner wife (shhh) it's time to take a fresh look at dating. This is especially pertinent in the golden autumn of ones years, when real effective communication in a relationship establishes itself as the golden holy grail!
What is going wrong with a hard-sought restraint-won wedding when it ends in an ugly, grasping drama-ridden divorce not 5 years after? Simples...when real communication is not established in the course of a courtship powered on the over-simplistic premise that 'he wants what he cannot have' it is no surprise that as soon as under the unflattering microscope of living in close quarters, the marriage reveals itself to lack substance and firm foundations, crumbling at the first real quiver of real expressed negative emotion. 'Stay passively active' and Follow your husband's lead' simply don't cut it!
In the wise words of Stevie...
In the wise words of Stevie...
I hope you find a love. Your own designs of love.
